LOGIN 2010 - Thoughts and Highlights

Submitted by Rosethorn on May 14, 2010 - 3:49pm. Exclusive Editorials

So after a long break from the convention scene, I decided I would start to reconnect with the MMO space by attending LOGIN in Seattle this year. For those not in the know, LOGIN is an annual conference that focuses mainly on the online space. This is the fourth year of the show. It is a great mix of mostly interesting and informative sessions and networking. As with any convention, there are always hiccups, but I left the show feeling very positive about the experiences I had this week.

Submitted by AyaJJ on May 12, 2010 - 5:59pm. Game Review

Rooms: the Main Building is a new puzzle game from Hudson. It has several different modes and options to choose from to allow for variety in game play, but don’t be fooled. Rooms is easy to get into, but surprisingly difficult to put down.

Alice in Wonderland IMAX

Submitted by AyaJJ on April 23, 2010 - 1:14pm. Exclusive Movie Review

Truth be told, I’m not the Alice fan; my sister is. She LOVES Alice in Wonderland. I like Alice in Wonderland, but love Mulan more. But I do have a strange affection for the whole Wonderland world. So when news came out that Tim Burton would be giving us his take on the story, I was excited, partly because I like the story, but mostly because I love Tim Burton. So I went ahead and threw down my $18 to see the IMAX version of Alice in Wonderland. Was it worth it?

I guess. Kinda. I enjoyed the movie, but didn’t think it was and “IMAX Experience.”

Plants vs. Zombies

Submitted by AyaJJ on April 23, 2010 - 1:12pm. Exclusive Game Review

Plants vs. Zombies

When my brother talked me into installing Popcap’s “Plants vs. Zombies,” I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. He said it was a great intro to tower-defense strategy games. I said the sunflower was cute. He said just play the game. And I did.

And I can’t stop!

"Casual" gaming on facebook?

Submitted by AyaJJ on April 23, 2010 - 12:38pm. Casual Corner

When I joined Facebook, I didn’t think of it as a portal to endless apps and games. I didn’t even join Facebook to catch up with my friends from high school. I joined Facebook to look at a few pictures my family posted.

So how did I get sucked into the gaming parts?

Funky Farm 2

Submitted by Meg on February 23, 2010 - 4:38pm. Casual Corner

I really like farm management games, which is odd since I can’t keep a real plant alive, but after playing Harvest Moon, FarmCraft, Farm Frenzy and so many others, I wasn’t sure there was any room left for new farming games. I didn’t know if Funky Farm 2 by SortaSoft could bring anything new that other farm sims hadn’t already done.

Avenue Flo

Submitted by Rosethorn on January 24, 2010 - 2:00am. Strategy (PC)

A new casual game from the makers of Diner Dash recently hit the market and this one isn't a time management game. Instead, Avenue Flo is more in the style of casual adventure games with elements of puzzling and hidden objects. And it's great fun too! There were only a couple of things I found frustrating. First, the game is far too short. It left me wanting more. I suppose that's not really a bad thing, but hey, I have to point out something negative! The other thing was in the chicken singing game. The chickens moved off the screen too slowly. Go ahead, accuse me of nitpicking. I don't care. The sad thing is, that's all I can name as wrong with this title.

Our Score:- 5 Stars
