Gamasutra.com is reporting that: "The University of Wales' Synergy research lab, part of International Film School Wales (IFSW), has announced that it will be hosting the Women In Games Conference this year from April 19-21 at the University of Wales, Newport. This year’s conference is titled ’Aesthetics in Play: new platforms, new perspectives, new players’, and will feature a wide range of topics including games as an emergent art form and methods of encouraging diversity in games. Keynote speakers announced thus far for the conference include Electronic Arts' VP of Europe Online Sharon Knight, BBC VP of digital content Alice Taylor, and Microsoft's diversity staffing program manager Karen Wilkins-Mickey. Dr Mary Flanagan, associate professor and director of learning game research and developer Tiltfactor Laboratory, and 1-Up MegaZine publisher and editor Raina Lee will also be keynoting the conference.
