One-Hour Original Program "Violence In Games: A G4 Special Report" Premieres October 26, 2005 at 11 PM ET/PT.

Los Angeles, October 11, 2005 - G4, the video game lifestyle network available in 53 million homes, brings another controversial issue to light in an all-new, one-hour investigative television special, "Violence In Games: A G4 Special Report." The announcement was made today by Jim Downs, Executive Producer, G4.

Premiering Wednesday, October 26 at 11:00PM ET/PT, "Violence in Games: A G4 Special Report" traces the history of violence in video games, beginning with provocative titles such as the adult/horror release Night Trap and Mortal Kombat that prompted Senators Joe Lieberman and Herb Kohl to call for Senate Hearings in 1993 and the subsequent formation of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). Other games that have stirred controversy in recent years are discussed, including Grand Theft Auto and Doom.

"Video games have become a scapegoat for many of our society's problems," comments Downs. "Our special on violence in games brings spirited debate and passionate discourse from both sides of the fence and provides viewers with an in-depth and objective look with which to form their own opinion on this topic."

"Violence in Games: A G4 Special Report" features interviews with high-profile individuals at the forefront of this issue including, California Assemblyman Leland Yee, U.S. Congressman Darryl Issa and former Columbine High School Student Craig Scott as well as videogame industry leaders Doug Lowenstein, President of the Entertainment Software Association and Lorne Lanning, Creator of the Oddworld games series. Other notable guests include, Melissa Caldwell, Parents Television Council; Jamil Moledina, Executive Director, Game Developers Conference; Chris Morris, Columnist CNN/Money; Dan Morris, Editor-in-Chief, PC Gamer Magazine; Seth Schiesel, Technology Culture writer, New York Times; and Dean Takahashi, Game columnist, San Jose Mercury News.

Jason's Comments: I'm a G4 junkie. I watch it all the time.
