Remember the sad story about the woman who died trying to win a Wii that we reported on earlier this week. It seems that the radio station (or at least its owners) have taken action and that ten employees were fired due to the radio bit/stunt that went horribly wrong.
From the article:
This Sacamento (California) Bee story reports that 10 employees of the local radio station KDND have been fired in the wake of a contest to win a Nintendo Wii that may have resulted in the death of one of the contestants. Jennifer Lea Strange, 28, participated in the radio station's "Hold your Wee for a Wii" contest on Friday where the people involved had to drink water and hold off going to the bathroom long enough to win a Wii. Strange reportedly drank one and a half gallons of water in the contest. However, she became ill and later died with the coroner's office labeling the death as "water intoxication". On Monday the radio station suspended the morning program where the contest took place. They would not confirm which employees had been fired.
