Prof. Argues Double Standard for Sex in Games

At the recent Montreal International Game Summit last Thursday, Brenda Brathwaite - game designer and professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia - talked in her keynote about the fact that there is a double standard when it comes to sex in games when compared to other media, such as television and movies. So why is there this double standard?

From the article:

"In any other medium," Said Brathwaite "if they said 'you can't have sex,' artists would be outraged. They would stand up and say 'To hell with you ... don't tell me what I can do. This is my creative freedom. [I]f Brokeback Mountain went through video gaming's rating system, "it would be two guys sitting on a bench talking about how they possibly liked each other and it would still be rated M (for Mature)."
