"Video games DID NOT make this kid who he was" - it's rare you'll hear that statement as videogames seem to be the defacto cause everyone wants to blame or either use as a defense to act like they weren't at fault. However, one alleged stepmother is saying that her child, one of several who beat to death a homeless man, that games did not make him that way no matter what others might say.

On Monday, Penny Arcade’s Gabe commented on a CNN story about three teens who beat a homeless man Rex Baum (left) to death. One of the youthful murdered equated the brutal killing to playing a violent video game.These kids were twelve kinds of nuts and that’s a fact. Their parents either made them nuts or weren’t paying attention while they went nuts on their own. I don’t know which scenario is worse.

Shortly thereafter, Gabe received a long and impassioned email from a woman identifying herself as one of the boys’ stepmother.
