It was a sad story to hear when it came out this past year, where a woman died trying to win a Nintendo Wii by downing a ton of water. And yes, though the people at the radio station should've been accountable for the stunt go wrong, never did I think serious criminal charges should've followed and it looks like other agreed as well.

As I'm sure you remember, in January 28 year-old Jennifer Strange died while trying to win a Nintendo Wii. It was tragic, it was stupid, and everyone walked away feeling a little bit worse about the world we live in.
Anyways, a lot of people were thinking criminal charges should be laid against the DJs responsible for the contest, especially after it was revealed that they had been warned, on-air, of the dangers of the contest. Not going to happen. The District Attorney's office handling the case has said:
There were no observable indications or symptoms that Jennifer Strange was experiencing a serious medical emergency which would have required station employees to seek or administer medical aid to her.
