Lawsuit Claims Xbox Killed Baby

Submitted by thankeeka on May 25, 2007 - 11:29am. General News

The story of the baby getting killed in a fire is a sad story and travesty, but the article makes some interesting points in that Microsoft shouldn't be getting sued, as apparently they are saying the fire started because of an overheating 360, but the problem appears to be that the fire happened before the system even was out yet.

From the article:

InformationWeek is reporting that a lawsuit has been filed against Microsoft and Wal-Mart, claiming that a house fire that killed an infant boy in Illinois was caused by the overheating of an Xbox 360 power cord. The lawsuit stated the fire occured in December 2004, which means that the console couldn't had been caused by an Xbox 360 since it had not yet been released to stores. Microsoft did announce a recall of 14 million original Xbox power cords in February 2005, however. The lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. An unnamed power supply maker is also named in the lawsuit.

Well, maybe this was using

Well, maybe this was using some of the Playstation 3's 4th dimensional technology. Remember the infamous Sony powerpoint presentation: Nintendo was 2D, the PSOne and PS2 were 3D - but the PS3 had *4* dimensions of fun.

Evidently, Microsoft must have stolen some of this technology, and used it to kill this child (who, I am guessing, would have been the creator of a version of Linux that could run on the 360). It's kind of like Terminator, but more nerdy.
