We here at Killer Betties - thanks to Assault Heroes 2, Sierra Online, and fortyseven communications - are happy to announce a new contest called the 'Assault Heroes 2: "Duck and Cover" Hat Giveaway' where you can win one of five Assault Heroes 2 caps. To win all you have to do is answer the following question:
"Which fictional character would you most like to play Assault Heroes 2 Co-op mode with and why?"
The contest will last from May 14, 2008 until May 21, 2008 - only one entry per person.
In order to win, send an email to contests[at]killerbetties.com with your answer to the question, as well as your name, and shipping address. We will then pick the 5 best answers and those winners will then receive one of the five hats. We look forward to hearing who you'd like to play with!
I'm typically not a big fan of micromanagement casual games, but one that surprised me with its quality when it was first released was Build-a-Lot. It was great to be land baron, buying up houses for sell, improving them, turning them for profit, and then buying up all the land in the area. Build-a-Lot 2: Town of the Year continues the same trends and gameplay from the last game, but yet has also added a few new features as well. Sigh, if only I had the money to really wheel and deal in real life.
I always enjoyed So You Think You Can Dance more than Dancing With The Stars, but over these last two seasons I've found some joy in watching the drama of the show. I pull for Cheryl Burke each season because I love her so. I'm riveted by Cristián de la Fuente – who I'd never heard of before this – and how he tore a muscle, is dancing with only one useable arm right now, and had the best performances of his dancing career this week. Okay, so I'm addicted to the show now, but sadly not this game at all.
It's always a thrill to see an invitation appear in my inbox to take part in a Warhammer Online conference call. For starters, you're destined to get a ton of quality information that you've probably not yet seen anywhere before. Secondly, the gang always puts on a show and will make you laugh as much as you learn. Where else can you hear people talk about not wearing pants, pig hats, and much, much more? Read on to find out what we found out.
Once upon a time I thought bingo was only a pastime old people could enjoy, but after one long road trip to a casino and a few hours of playing, however, my mind was changed and I had a blast. Since then, sadly, there hasn't been a bingo experience that could even compare to that one. Trying to capture the gameplay of bingo in a game is like trying to find a great game of bingo – it's only as fun as the experience and people surrounding it. Along comes Slingo Quest Hawaii, a bingo-esque game, which manages to capture the spirit of bingo and transform it into something that can be enjoyed by yourself.

Until Nintendo gets on the idea that could dethrone World of Warcraft, the closest you’ll find to a Pokemon MMO is the recently released Magi-Nation, a game that has you traversing a series of worlds, battling monsters, and using them for your own personal bodyguards. Though there are some nags here and there to mire the experience, fans of both the franchise and those looking for a new (and free) fix might find what they’re looking for with Magi-Nation: Battle for the Moonlands.

Brains! Brains! Brraaaaainnnnns! Considering the fact that zombies love to eat brains and one of the classic sci-fi enemies are the giant floating brains, it’s amazing that a concept such as Teenage Zombies has never been done before given how making a story about the two would mesh so well together. Though Teenage Zombies isn’t as grand as the concept itself, it’s still a fun and hilarious game for the relatively short time it lasts.

The glory that was Rome has long excited the imagination of gamers the world over for many years. How a small and insignificant city-state could rise to be the premier empire of the Western World is a story epic in its grandeur and makes the ideal subject of a computer game. There are of course no shortages of games that try to portray this era of history, and the latest is another in the long line of Paradox’s historical game, EU: Rome.

Being in love sucks! If it isn't the pain of your heart being stepped on and squashed like a bug, it's having to overcome numerous obstacles – such as an overbearing father – in order to just be near the one you want. So, should you find yourself having to embark on a journey to get a magical stone to prove your worth to your love, what should you do? As it turns out, having a magical bow that shoots different colored balls is a marvelous tool to have to save the day.

The last mahjong game I played was the excellent Mahjongg Investigations: Under Suspicion, a game that managed to take the ancient gameplay of mahjong and tweaked it and made it new and relevant by incorporating little twists in the gameplay. Much like that game, Mythic Mahjong takes the traditional formula and makes it once again feel new with a fantasy adventure that will have you matching tiles in the name of saving your queen and vanquishing a dragon.

When it comes to word games, it seems that most of the time the game is only ever as good as your actual vocabulary dictionary. Most games require an understanding of many different four or five letter words to advance you through the game, while knowing only a few basic words of three letters will lead to nothing but frustration. Jabber bridges the two extremes fairly well, letting word masters make some dastardly long words while yet giving those non-English college majors a chance at winning for a change.

Come on down! I couldn't even begin to tell you how many episodes of The Price Is Right I've seen over my lifetime. Whether it's Bob Barker or Drew Carey, I'm there at 11:00AM every day, eating lunch while I bid on prices and play games that I have no investment in and have no chance of winning. Still, oh, I love watching the show! And when I fired up The Price Is Right game for the first time and heard that signature music, how my smile did widen. So is the new The Price Is Right casual game as awesome as winning a Dodge Viper or is it as frustrating as someone outbidding you by one dollar for the win?

When you first look at the ten games that are going to be included on Hudson's soon to be released Deca Sports, you have to wonder what the heck the developers were thinking. Nintendo's own Wii Sports had such popular events as baseball, tennis, golf, boxing, and bowling, but with Deca Sports you're looking at such under appreciated sports as badminton, archery, figure skating, and even curling. I love watching the sport during the Winter Olympics, but really…curling? Well I was wrong to ever question Hudson, because after getting to play a preview build of the game I'm now all-aboard the bandwagon for Deca Sports.

I'm a sucker for Asian style. At this very moment, for instance, I've got a huge manga book sitting on my desk that I'm using to try and teach myself how to draw. Given my leanings towards everything Asian, I instantly jumped at the chance to spend some time with a preview build of Zen Fashion, a soon to be released casual game that bridges the majestic nature of the Oriental with some flower matching fun. If only I could get my own hairdo to give me the power to slow down time.

Whenever I think back to all of the casual games I've played over the last year or so, Runes of Avalon still remains one of the most unique and freshest ones to come to mind whenever I think of the quality and entertainment that is possible with a good casual game. Imagine my excitement then when I heard Runes of Avalon 2 was finished and ready to be released. I quickly downloaded the game and found myself once again falling in love with the franchise once again.
