EA Sports Making Wii Fit For Bored Women

The Wii is probably the most accessible system out there for women looking to get into videogames for the first time. Wii Fit is going to be a huge draw in general, and when you have someone like Tina Yothers doing ads for the game during episodes of Celebrity Bootcamp on VH1 it should come as no surprise that Nintendo is heavily targeting women with the game. Peter Moore is looking at also using the Wii Board for EA's own fitness game, and women seem to be their main target.

We're watching very closely what the Wii Fit board does. We think we have to have a role to play with that mum - the kids have gone to school, she's got 45 minutes on her own, the Wii is there, it's the first console she's ever liked because she can do things herself. And we're working on stuff, trying to work out how we can use EA Sports applications there.
