'Celestial Mage' Demo Released

Submitted by EntropyInk on August 19, 2005 - 3:17pm. Game News

If you like puzzle games such as Bejewelled, then you will probably want to check out the free demo of Stonewall Interactive's Celestial Mage available for Windows XP.

Celestial Mage is played on a chess-like 3-D board, the goal of which is to clear the board by rune stones into combinations of 3 or more; creating scrolls and casting spells to advance to the next round. Each rune stone and scroll however is limited in moves; increasing the challenge. Try to move your rune or scroll too far, and it turns grey, making it a lovely roadblock on your board. When three or more like runes are grouped, you can activate them using your mouse to create a scroll. The different colored runes create different spells with different effects, such as poison, heal, and ball of fire. Combining scrolls may make more powerful scrolls, worth even more points.

"We're proud of our work on Celestial Mage" said Rocky Jalil, President and CEO of Stonewall Interactive. "My goal is to redefine gaming and push the limits of what can be done. I feel that the combination of ideas that formed Celestial Mage puts us on course to do that."

The single player Time Attack game is the only one available for now, but I am anticipating trying out the full version.
