The State of Killer Betties

by on May 24, 2006 at 3:07 pm

So what does everyone think of Killer Betties so far? That is the one question I’m always wondering. I don’t get too much feedback from the readers about the site itself and I’d love to hear from y’all.

As you can see, I’m pushing KB in a couple ways. We had kickass E3 coverage, thanks to the folks who went in my stead since I was stuck with the cutest baby in the world at home. We are continuing our coverage of top tier products and stuff we find interesting. Anklesock continues to blog about very interesting topics, so please keep checking back for those.

In addition to our standard fare, we are also putting a major focus on puzzle solving games. The Google Da Vinci Code Quest was incredibly popular for our site. Every week I’ll find another cool puzzle game we can all play together and chat about. If you know of or find a game you think is interesting, let me know about it!

Killer Betties Finds a Sock

by on April 25, 2006 at 3:34 pm

Anklesock Littlegirlsocks is joining the Killer Betties team and will be blogging about all the experiences in the gaming industry to be had and whatever else comes to mind. With a significant amount of experience and history, basically being there at the start and working for many many companies both small and large (I’ll leave that to Anklesock’s blog to reveal), Anklesock has a lot to say and I personally love to hear the stories of history past and thoughts on the future. I hope everyone will join me in warmly welcoming Anklesock Littlegirlsocks to the Killer Betties family.

You may notice that Anklesock has put that in as a real name, this is Anklesock’s real name having been given it at the age of 8. It stuck hard, and that name became legal at the age of 16.

Be sure to catch Anklesock’s first blog entry and come back tomorrow for another (and many more to come).

Random Thoughts

by on April 11, 2006 at 4:36 pm

As you may have noticed, some of the navigation options have changed. I’m sure there’s a lot of things I’ve overlooked in changing these options, but hopefully no one will have trouble navigating the site. If there is something especially egregious, please email me at staci.k (at) killerbetties.com so I can fix it. The same goes for any critical bugs that prevent you from being able to enjoy the site.

You may have also noticed the new blogging feature. Our female gamers will be blogging periodically about whatever gaming topics they have on their minds (me included). It will be an informal way for us to talk about games and I hope you enjoy it and give us plenty of feedback!

E3 is coming up and we are preparing. If there’s something of particular interest you would like to see us cover at E3, please comment on this post and I’ll see what I can do.

There’s still a lot of work to do on the site, but I think it’s coming together pretty well.

I always have openings for volunteers, so if you’d like to help make Killer Betties all it can be, please email me at staci.k (at) killerbetties.com and we’ll chat!

Hang With Us

The site is coming along. I had some setbacks but things are improving now. Hopefully more good stuff this week! Stay tuned.

So, I made the theme I’ve been working like mad to get up to speed the default theme — so everyone will now see the theme that looks familiar. It obviously still needs work, but I wanted to at least have the site look familiar to my readers, so voila.

I’m very excited about the things this new system is going to enable me to do with the site. Expect to see things like personal blogs from my female writers about their gaming life and games you can get right from this site!

I’m really excited about what the future is going to bring for Killer Betties. If you want to be a part of that future, please email me at staci.k (at) killerbetties.com and let me know how you’d like to participate.

I’m hoping very soon to make live the theme. It will probably still have problems, but at least the site will feel familiar again.

There’s still a ton to do on the site, but we’ll be posting plenty of content this week as well, so be sure to visit us often.

I’m still looking for volunteers who like to code, draw (or photoshop as it were) or write. Email me at staci.k (at) killerbetties.com if you are interested.

Moving Along

by on March 31, 2006 at 1:24 pm

Things are progressing pretty nicely. You might have seen some things come and go, as I decide which modules I want to use and which ones I don’t. Expect to see major improvements today — so stay tuned. 🙂

I’d love to hear what everyone things so far as far as what modules are currently active and what not — so let me know — comment!

BTW, I am still looking for volunteers in the form of programmers, artists, writers and newsies. Interested? Email me at staci.k (at) killerbetties.com.

Back to the grind.
