'Burnout Revenge' Preview

Submitted by thankeeka on September 14, 2005 - 12:13pm.

I've never been a real fan of racing games - especially simulations (hello, you do have a real life outside video games don't ya?) and cart racers (too cutesy and simple for me) - but arcade racers are another thing. I was one of the last to discover Burnout 3 - what with its super fast speed and beautiful crashes (I understand the movie 'Crash' circa 1996 ever so slightly more now) - and so I was thrilled when I got to get my grubby hands on Burnout Revenge. I left my short, oh so very short, time with the game with one thought in my mind - I hate a tease.

Let me explain, a tease is something/someone that will torment you by giving you a glance at the good stuff and then ripping it away so all you are left with is this unending desire to see the whole thing. Teases can come in the form of men and women, movie trailers, and in this case Burnout Revenge. How dare you give me something so great and then rip it away after only one race! How dare you!

So let me tell you why the game is such a great teaser. The game plays exactly like Burnout 3 and that is a good thing: ON THE XBOX - left thumbstick controls your car, right trigger for gas, left trigger for break and to cause power slides, and A-button is for your boost. That is it
