The IGF is organized within the context of the Game Developer Conference – a major event for the video game industry. Each year, the IGF rewards the best independent video games. This year, no less than 19 games were in competition in various categories.

DOFUS won one of the most appreciable prizes of the competition, the one awarded by the audience. Indeed, it should be pointed out that this year, the IGF registered a record participation of voters whether over the Internet or during the event itself. DOFUS received about more than 30% of the total votes. This not only proves that Ankama succeeded the technical bet of developing a massive multiplayer online game but that the latter also seduced a large amount of worldwide players ready to praise it to the skies.

Ankama Studio wishes to thank the whole DOFUS-player community and most particularly those who proved their attachment to this atypical game within the online game world.

Released in French in September 2004, DOFUS allies colourful graphics close to that of a cartoon and an innovative gameplay in the world of MMORPG, massive multiplayer online role play games. Already counting more than 700,000 registered players worldwide, this number keeps on increasing making DOFUS a successful game that the IGF has just hallowed at the highest level.
