Wasn't it Sony who was the first to really comment and bash Microsoft for releasing their Elite unit, and now here is Sony gearing up for their 80GB unit? Looks to me like someone was a little pissy and angry cause someone beat them to the punch. I hate to tell you Sony, but turning your back on your own comments is never a good thing.

The rumors have finally been validated, for Sony have unveiled plans for an 80 gigabyte PS3 to hit stores in Korea on June 16. Retailing for the Korean equivalent of $556 (before tax), there has been nothing confirmed about a release in other countries, although it would seem likely. That said, a spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has come out to say that there are no current plans for a European release, at least. There's a surprise.
